The Conservatives have today pledged to increase CCTV across the town as part of their three part plan to crack down on anti-social behaviour across Harlow if they win May’s local elections.
The three part plan includes:
1. More bobbies on the beat to crack down on anti-social behaviour
2. Increase CCTV across the town
3. Tougher sentencing for criminals
Commenting on the plan, Old Harlow Councillor, Mike Garnett said: “We recently saw an awful attack on an elderly resident in one of our underpasses. But sadly, anti-social behaviour in our town has been on the rise for far too long.
“We need a Council that will take bold action to make our streets safer. That’s what our three point plan will deliver by not only putting more police officers on the beat, but increasing CCTV in areas such as underpasses to ensure we crack down on anti-social behaviour.
“The Government is giving the police the powers and backing they need to do their job and making sentences far tougher to ensure they truly reflect the crime that has been committed.
“A vote for the Conservatives in May is a vote to make Harlow’s streets safer.”
